THE FIRE

ROBIN HOOD

PAIN

SWIM BABY SWIM

STATE OF GRACE

THE FIRE

My life’s been walking the sidelines,
Practising all of it’s script rhymes,
Still prompted words at every turn.
Pinch, punch you push me you pull me,
Tug at me and tell me I’m crazy,
Take away my words and let me learn.

We were one when the fire started burning down it’s road,
One when we promised live and let live.
We were one when you said you’d never leave me here alone,
But now the flame inside begins to dim.
And we were like ooo, ooo.
We were like ooo.

I’ve left them to control me,
Taken me and driving me crazy,
Up every wall inside my brain.
My hands controlling the wheel,
Following my own path and not the devil’s deal,
I’m the beast inside that won’t be tamed.

We were one when the fire started burning down it’s road,
One when we promised live and let live.
We were one when you said you’d never leave me here alone,
But now the flame inside begins to dim.

My life ain’t walking the sidelines,
These words aren’t scripted they’re all mine.
Now in the fire I take my turn.

ROBIN HOOD

It’s once in a life time that chances come by,
Although we reach we can’t touch the sky.
We’ll try and try our hardest to get what we need,
We’ll play our hand it’s not always free.

The man tells us keep giving the child inside will hide,
Although we’re scared we were built on pride.
So we’ll wake up in the morning, give away what we need,
We’ll play our part it’s not always free, it’s not always free.

Where is the Robin Hood who will keep them on their toes?
Who will treat us fair when it’s dark and were alone?
Where is the Superman who will sweep us off our feet?
Who will watch over us on the nights we cannot sleep?

And as the days get darker the hope will fade,
Life is a game that can’t be played.
So save all the pennies the pounds will save themselves,
But when we call who will come to help? Who will come to help?

It gets harder and harder to get what we need,

Although we are scared we will not leave.

It gets harder and harder to breathe the air we breathe,
Although we are scared we will not leave.

PAIN

Who do you tell when the sky is falling down?
You keep on reaching for the stars but you can’t get your feet off the ground.
You’re going nowhere fast, but your heart is beating.
How much longer can you last?
‘Til you’re swallowed by the ground.

Pain.
Is nothing but a fear you feel inside,
And your bones will run at the speed of light.
When you feel it, when you need it, let your spirit fly away.
Away.

Where do you run when there’s nowhere left to hide?
You keep on giving up your time so there’s no more time left to bide.
You’re running way too fast, but your heart is beating.
How much longer can you last?
‘Til you’ve fallen to the ground.

Don’t be afraid to give the key to someone else,
We will unlock the box inside yourself.
And once I’ve set you free don’t be afraid to fly,
You won’t feel fear when you’re a diamond in the sky.
Now I’ve fallen to the ground.

SWIM BABY SWIM

It’s time to put my wits to test and take you out to sea,
I’ll roll with the punches when you punch below the knee.
Sail out to the ocean where no one else can see,
You’ll look for light and solid ground but you can’t have that and me.

This isn’t love,
It’s sea sickness, weakness, it’s coming between us.
And this isn’t love,
We’re ship wrecked and sinking, I’m jumping, I’m leaving.

You’re a shark in the water singing “Swim Baby Swim”.
I’m stuck at the bottom,
There’s no way I can win.
And you used to be my saviour but you’ve given that in.
There’s a shark in the water,
And without you I can’t swim.

This time I won’t hold my breath as we sink down in the sea,
I’m holding up that big white flag ‘cos you can’t have that and me.
You’ll swim to dry dry land I’m exhausted can’t you see,
I’ll drown up here in open land my first love is the sea.

STATE OF GRACE

When it rains it pours, her heart from crying.
And she’s waiting her turn but her hope is dying.
What you see is what you get, she is pure of heart.
But she hasn’t found it yet.

Little darling don’t you worry,
It’ll come for you.
Those who wait will get the best gift,
And that’s how we found you.
Don’t be scared the time will come for you.
And we know it’s just,
A state of Grace.

She has shared her men with girls so much better than them.
She has wasted her time when they can’t see whats in front of their eyes.
She’s a diamond in the rough, a gem un-noticed.
And the time it has been tough on her.

You’ve had your share of heartbreak,
it isn’t always fair.
But the best will come to those who will wait.
Don’t be scared the time will come for you.
And we know it’s just, yeah!
